Attending the Constitution Day debate yesterday, featuring James Bond and Bryan Adamson, I realized that it was just another talking heads events with most comments/questions coming from the already outspoken professors with nothing really new being said.
For those who didn't attend, the title of the event was MUST WE TAKE RACE INTO ACCOUNT TO GET BEYOND RACE? The question arises out of the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent landmark decision striking down Seattle’s “race-as-tiebreaker” method of pupil assignment.
After the event, of course, I wish I had asked Bond whether he, as a person in the white majority, should even have a right to answer this question.
Maybe this is all just my cynical 3L view ... any other perspectives out there.
